What advice would you give to those looking to purchase life insurance for their family?
“I recommend long-term life insurance. We generally recommend 20 years due to the cost-effective nature of the premiums (30 years is usually double the monthly cost). We find that most people are underinsured. If you have a young family, they are depending on you for mortgage payments, school expenses, living expenses, etc. Also, your spouse will likely have to adjust their work schedule if they don’t have a spouse to help.”
What trends have you noticed in the industry that will shape choices or policies available to families?
“More policies are available with expedited underwriting (no bodily fluids involved). However, the wide use of recreational and medicinal marijuana may complicate the process for some.”
